Equilore charity turns 2!

Equilore was registered as a charity on 24 August 2020 so we celebrate our second birthday this month.

In that time, we have welcomed 200 clients, pulled in grants, expanded our team, found our new yard and started to be seen within mainstream provision receiving referrals from social services, GPs, schools and much more.

Equilore was founded in 2017 by Dr Loes Koorenhof (Chartered Psychologist and qualified Equine Facilitated Psychotherapist) and became a registered charity in 2020. We provide Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP), a nature-based form of mental health support where people learn new things through experiencing. The sessions are run by Dr Loes Koorenhof and four therapy horses Winston, Elsie, Buddy and Gerry.

We provide an alternative therapeutic route for anyone struggling with their mental health and who is unable to benefit from more traditional talking approaches. We work with a range of people from children to adults, from those suffering with extreme anxiety, loss, trauma, relationship breakdown, mental health problems as well as providing a positive therapeutic approach for those suffering with long term or terminal illness.
