She has her British Horse Society Level 1 Horse Care and Level 2 Teaching Qualifications and Level 2 Horse care BTEC qualification alongside First Aid with horses and people.

Kim is currently studying an ‘Understanding Autism’ course with The Open University, so she incorporates this knowledge into the Barn Pals sessions.

Evelyn Sullivan,
Part-time groom

Evelyn Sullivan

Evelyn grew up on her family’s farm where she was immersed in animal care from a young age. Her family breed Suffolk Punch horses, a rare heavy horse breed. She grew up helping with daily care and training, and has been part of demonstrations of both driven and ridden work with these magnificent horses.

She brings this deep-rooted knowledge of horse care to her role with Equilore, having volunteered with us for nearly four years. Her skill, reliability and genuine love for horses led to her taking on a part-time groom role, supporting yard care and covering weekends and holidays.

Evelyn is passionate about the work Equilore does, especially in Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP), and is planning to begin her studies in counselling so she can further combine her interests in horses and helping people.

Alongside her groom duties, Evelyn leads our Tuesday Barn Pals group, working with a small group of children with special educational needs in nature-based activities and horse care.
